Rabbit Terms and Conditions

Join in the fun by texting your messages and photos to Rabbit Gay Chat and Date on Freeview, Channel 203. The service is fully monitored and managed by text jockeys (TJ) who help to ensure the conversations and pictures are fun, but clean and decent. The service is on air every day between 8am and 4am. Broadcasting hours are subject to change.

  • You must be 18+ to use the service.
  • SMS text messages to 88789 are charged at 60p or 50 carrot credits
  • SMS text messages to 88456 are charged at £1.20 or 100 carrot credits except for virtual gifts which are £1.80 or 150 carrot credits. Any admin messages indicated below as free are not charged
  • Get a better deal by bulk-buying CARROT CREDITS via PayPal: just text keyword CREDIT to 88456 (free message). You will be sent a personal link which you can click on to take you to the PayPal purchase page. You will need an internet-enabled mobile phone (data charges may apply). CARROT CREDITS are our special currency you can spend on any of the Rabbit features.
  • PAYPAL offers options to buy 500 carrot credits for £4.99 or 1000 carrot credits for £9.99. Just follow the instructions presented via the link.
  • To bulk-buy 1000 carrot credits for £10 via SMS text keyword CREDIT to 79910. Your carrot credits will not be valid until you have received the confirmation message. SMS text messages to 79910 are charged at £10.00
  • Your first MMS photo message to 07786 202 123 in each 24 hour period (i.e. 00:00hrs to 23:59hrs) is FREE. Subsequent MMS photo messages in the same 24 hour period are charged at £1.20 or 100 carrot credits. Attach a profile to your MMS for no additional charge.
  • All messages sent by service users (including free messages) are subject to your standard network charge (10p/12p) in addition to the above charges.
  • Mobile networks limit single text messages to a maximum of 160 characters. Any messages longer than this will be split by the mobile networks and you may get charged more than once.


    • How to Use Rabbit

  • To join, text your date of birth (in the format dd.mm.yy) to 88456 (free message). You will be allocated a unique mailbox number
  • To send an on-screen message, text it to 88789. Messages should only be sent in the English language.
  • To send a private chat, text the mailbox number of the person you want to receive your message (space) and then your message to 88456
  • To send an MMS message (photo), send it to 07860 007 789
  • To create a nickname, text keyword NICK (space) followed by your nickname to 88456
  • To send a virtual gift text one of the gift keywords ROSE, KISS, CHOC, POP or RING (space) followed by your message to 88456

  • To get an astrological match with another user, text keyword STARS and their box number to 88456
  • To change a nickname, repeat the ‘create a nickname’ process.
  • To hide your mailbox number (so you cannot receive private messages) text keyword HIDE to 88456 (free message).
  • To re-enable your mailbox number, text keyword SHOW to 88456 (free message).
  • To get your private messages queued until 9am tomorrow, text the keyword SLEEP to 88456 (free message).
  • To de-activate sleep mode and start receiving messages again the keyword SLEEP a second time to 88456 (free message).
  • To block a user from sending private messages text BLOCK (space) and the user box number you wish to block to 88456 (free message).
  • To unblock a user you have previously blocked, text UNBLOCK (space) and the user box number you wish to unblock to 88456 (free message).
  • To un-register from the service, text keyword EXIT to 88456 (free message).
  • To rejoin simply text your message to 88789 or 88456 in the normal way.
  • To rejoin using a different mobile number, text your date of birth (in the format dd.mm.yy) to 88456 (free message).
  • Please do not send/use inappropriate messages/photos/nicknames.
  • Inappropriate messages/photos/nicknames and most foreign words will be rejected and you will be charged for these messages.
  • Inappropriate messages include those that are, or could be perceived to be, threatening, abusive or bullying, indecent, discriminatory (eg racist, sexist, etc) libellous, religious, commercial/promotional, breach trademark law or copyright or could otherwise cause offence. Please avoid using brand names.
  • Inappropriate pictures include those that are not of human beings, show human beings gesturing in an offensive/sexual manner or are obviously not a picture or the user.
  • Contact details and/or meeting arrangements will not be broadcast. Should you wish to meet another user, refer to our Safety Guidelines and communicate using private chat messages.
  • TJs are online service hosts and virtual friends but they may not meet or communicate privately with users.
  • Rabbit is for over 18s only and, for the benefit of all users, we apply a strict policy on this. If we have doubts that you are 18, we may reject your photo and text messages unless you are able to provide further proof of age. The publisher`s decision is final. If you have been rejected and would like to send proof of age, please send copies of two forms of ID (one must be a driving licence or passport with photo) and your mobile number to: Rabbit c/o CMC, PO Box 5193, Brighton BN50 9WS.
  • We cannot guarantee that your message will be broadcast and reserve the right to reject inappropriate messages and ban users who do not comply with the conditions of the service. The publisher’s decision is final.
  • Messages & pictures sent to air will be published on UK Freeview Channels 202 & 203, http://m.rabbit-tv.com and www.rabbit-tv.com and may be distributed through other media partners and/or used in marketing and promotional material.
  • Virtual gifts are delivered by MMS picture message and the recipient must have a mobile handset that accepts MMS messages to receive a virtual gift. Most modern mobiles have this capability. Rabbit cannot accept for delivery of a virtual gift to users whose mobile handsets do not have this functionality. Should you be in any doubt about the capability of your mobile handset, please check with your mobile phone provider.
  • We are not responsible for mobile network, digital transmission problems or specific digital receiver problems that may affect your use of the Rabbit service. Such technical problems are beyond our control and therefore we cannot be held responsible.
  • Any mention of financial remuneration in exchange for meeting up or even to continue chatting with other Rabbit users, including mobile top-ups, could be regarded as soliciting and is strictly forbidden. Any messages, including private chat messages, that break this rule may be rejected and you may still be charged.


    • Acceptance of Terms and Your data

    By using this service, you are deemed to accept these terms and conditions and consent to us collecting and processing your data. By using this service you agree from time to time to receive promotional SMS messages from specially selected third parties of offers or services in accordance with your selected preferences, and based on your previous service choices. We will only use the data collected to send out information about services that may be of interest to you. To unsubscribe from the promotional messages please text STOP to 88789 (this message is free subject to standard network charges).

    Safety Guidelines

    We try to ensure that Rabbit is a clean, safe and secure environment for users to chat and exchange messages and photos and we urge all users to help us to keep it that way. For your own safety, do not give out your personal details which could allow you to be contacted directly by other service users. If you are contacted by a user of the service, do not arrange to meet them unless you feel completely safe. If you choose to meet a user of the service, you do so at your own risk and we recommend that you follow these guidelines:
  • Always meet in a safe public place
  • Tell someone where you are going and when you will be back
  • Never arrange to meet at your own home or give out personal details until you feel safe
  • Trust your instincts - don`t continue if it doesn`t seem right


    • Additional Information on Credit Purchasing

    PayPal is a great way to buy credits on Rabbit either using your mobile (for those with an internet enabled phone) or online. PayPal is user friendly, trusted, safe and secure and allows the purchase of bulk credits at favourable rates. Carrot credits can be used anytime for a whole 90 days so you have plenty of flexibility in how and when you use them. Remaining credits will expire should you choose to exit the service without utilizing them.
    If you have insufficient credit remaining, when you submit messages to the service you will automatically revert to individual message charges to your mobile phone at the advertised rate unless you top up your credits again.
    We do not currently offer repeat subscription options through PayPal so you will need to top up credits as you run out. There is no need to cancel, though you can exit the service at any time by texting EXIT to 88456 should you wish to do so and no further messages or charges will be sent from Rabbit.
